Must Visit Places in Gurgaon: Fig at Museo

Located near Galleria Market and Cross Point mall is Fig at Museo, one of the best places to visit in Gurgaon. Museo or the Camera Museum is one of those hidden and serene spots in Gurgaon, where one can indulge their cultural side as well as visit the café for some great food.

The Camera Museum

Museo Camera started in 2009, in the basement of Aditya Arya, a historian, photographer and archivist and has transformed into the most prominent non-profit crowd-funded Centre for Photographic Arts in South East Asia. The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram and India Photo Archive Foundation has formed a distinctive public-private partnership to establish a one-of-a-kind space for photography in India. Spanning 18,000 sq. ft., this dedicated art space showcases the beauty and creativity of photography. The fees to visit the museum are reasonable and there are several classes one can join to delve further into photography. The gift shop also has one-of-a-kind collectables in Gurgaon.

The Best Cafe Near me- By Far

For me, ever the foodie, the shining gem is Fig, located within Museo. This pet-friendly café in Gurgaon has the perfect balance of indoor and outdoor seating and a menu that encompasses natural food trends. Sure, it’s also one of the most romantic restaurants in Gurgaon- and better yet, it is a café near me! Just a few minutes walk from Galleria, I often visit this restaurant to indulge in some truly special dishes.

Breakfast Anyone?

Their breakfast menu is glorious- and available at certain hours (you will have to go earlier in the day to try it!) From banana pancakes to Turkish eggs, there are savoury and sweet delights for all.

The Chorizo and Bacon Pancakes- with Maple on the side!

My personal favourite is the Chorizo and Bacon Pancakes, served with Chili Jam and Fried Egg. Super filling, this plate of pancakes has a nice mix of sweet and savoury that delights the palate. It takes some time to prepare though- so don’t order it if you’re in a hurry!

The edible flowers on the Shakshuka are a great touch!

Another great egg option is the Moroccan Spiced Shakshuka- this is a flavourful dish that originated in North Africa and the Middle East. It typically consists of a base of spiced tomato sauce and bell peppers, topped with poached eggs and garnished with fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley. This warm and smoky egg dish is served with some crisp sourdough bread, perfect for soaking up the runny yolk.

Small Plates

The small plates have a nice mixture of cuisine types, all boasting natural food trends so the common factor is well-made food with fresh produce. My go-to small plates are the Soft Shell Tacos and the BBQ Pork Ribs. Both are great to whet your appetite and are ideal for sharing.

Another highlight on the menu is the Burrito Bowl. This colourful dish highlights its ingredients to give you a hearty meal with the freshest of ingredients. This one is super filling and great for non-vegetarians and vegetarians alike.

Pasta, Pizzas, Mains and More

This is the perfect bowl of pasta

Pasta lovers can rejoice- my go-to choice is the sundried tomato ravioli which is equal parts creamy and tangy, presented with a pesto sauce.  Another dish to try out is the lobster (although this is subject to availability). The one miss for me was the Crispy Pork Belly which I did not like the cook on. The fat was a tad too much and the cook on it rendered it slightly rubbery.

The pork belly while pretty, was a miss

The wood-fired pizzas are worth checking out, however, be warned that these are more artisanal and crispy- the way I tend to prefer them. The burgers are nice as well, a friend of mine ordered one and enjoyed the ample filling and bun-to-meat ratio.

Sweet Endings

I am not one for desserts but their coffee menu is to die for, and is served with house-made cookies that made me ask for three more! They also do special menus such as their Christmas menu which highlights the natural food trends of the season, and I was quite taken with the Avo-Shrimp Ceviche. I also loved the black carrot soup which was an uplifting take on an often underused ingredient.

The fact that Fig is one of the best pet-friendly cafes near me, with a seasonal and fresh menu, makes it one of the best places to visit in Gurgaon. As well as being one of the most romantic restaurants in Gurgaon, this is my go-to when I need a quiet afternoon to roam the museum, a well-made cup of coffee and some fresh air.

Delhi people don’t despair- there’s a Fig in Malcha Marg too!

Those photos you’ve shared have definitely made me feel hungry. When I read the title with “Museo” in it, I was expecting to read an article about a trip to a museum. Forgive me for that as I don’t know much about Gurgaon. Anyways, the food looks amazing and can almost tell they all taste so good.
