I’m sitting by my window pane.
Sitting, listening to the rain,
It’s taking me down memory lane
To beaches beautiful and fun,
To family outings in the sun,
Down memory lane,
There is no pain.
Just the chance to meet the ones we have lost,
A page into the past, all shiny and glossed,
Nothing is forgotten and everything remains,
Down memory lane.
Its streets are cobbled with my past,
It makes sure everything that matters lasts,
Because when we are gone all that remains,
Is memory lane.

Nice poem, we have to enjoy the present so that memory lane does not get too depressing.
How profound. It’s so easy to get lost in memory lane, it’s like a springboard, always pulling out a surprise.
Memories are treasures and that keeps us going, it reminds, it revives and also educates us to enjoy the present the way it comes. Beautifully penned poem.
Absolutely lovely post. I loved reading about this memory lane. I’m waiting for more.
Lovely poem. Enjoyed reading it.
Beautiful poem about memory lanes, the streets are indeed filled with the remains of our past. Keep writing.
Short and sweet poem! It’s true that in the end it’s going down the memory lane that keeps us connected to our past.
Down memory lane is so profound Meetali. I used to go down on it but now I cannot even watch my son’s videos. The loss is unbearable.
how lovely.. you’ve described the memory lane so aptly.. it made me recall my own summer day spent at the beach with the family as a child..My favorite lines were
“Its streets are cobbled with my past,
It makes sure everything that matters lasts”
such a sweet little poem Meetali… It brought a smile to my face. Loved this line, ‘its streets are cobbled with my past.’… couldn’t have been better.
Memories can be both joyous as well as painful. You have written beautifully. My favourite is your reference with cobbled street.
Short and sweet poem Mitali. It took me to my childhood where we used to visit beach. Memory are for cherished and reminder to live in present.
A profound takeaway from your lines: When we are gone, all that remains is the memory lanes.
Simple yet powerful lines. I’m sure it will resonate with anyone who reads it
Sitting by the window and admiring nature can help bring back old memories. A beautiful poem. Short and crisp
So true. At the end of the day, only the memories remain. We keep the good ones and let the bad ones go.
So profound, Meetali. All kinds of memories. Holding on to the precious ones although they are fading away.
So much about life is told in a few words. When we are alone with nature, our past visits and refreshes memories.
I feel this so much! Sometimes, I just close my eyes and let the rain take me back to simpler times.
That’s one great short poem. Truly everyone can resonate to it and even do it literally. Finding time to reflect on life is something most people don’t do but in really helps one understand more of their life and make them appreciate life/their life in general.
Very short but heart warming poem. Though memories of loved ones never fade but to live the present and cherish the blessings of God is must for a healthy life….loved it..
Love this short poem – it brings up so many sweet things… rain and memory lane are a warm way to spend an evening.
So beautiful… Simple but beautifully expressed.
