Down on Memory Lane

a poem called down on memory lane

I’m sitting by my window pane.
Sitting, listening to the rain,
It’s taking me down memory lane

To beaches beautiful and fun,
To family outings in the sun,

Down memory lane,
There is no pain.
Just the chance to meet the ones we have lost,
A page into the past, all shiny and glossed,
Nothing is forgotten and everything remains,
Down memory lane.

Its streets are cobbled with my past,
It makes sure everything that matters lasts,

Because when we are gone all that remains,
Is memory lane.

Memories are treasures and that keeps us going, it reminds, it revives and also educates us to enjoy the present the way it comes. Beautifully penned poem.

how lovely.. you’ve described the memory lane so aptly.. it made me recall my own summer day spent at the beach with the family as a child..My favorite lines were
“Its streets are cobbled with my past,
It makes sure everything that matters lasts”

That’s one great short poem. Truly everyone can resonate to it and even do it literally. Finding time to reflect on life is something most people don’t do but in really helps one understand more of their life and make them appreciate life/their life in general.

Very short but heart warming poem. Though memories of loved ones never fade but to live the present and cherish the blessings of God is must for a healthy life….loved it..

Love this short poem – it brings up so many sweet things… rain and memory lane are a warm way to spend an evening.
